Alexis graduated from the University of Leeds with a First Class Honours in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. The University were so impressed with her abilities that she was offered the chance to study towards a degree in Dentistry which she is due to complete in 2024. Alongside her studies she is working part time at Hopkinson Dental.

As a volunteer for the “Open Wide’ project Alexis has been instrumental in inspiring school children in the Leeds area towards a career in dentistry and to educate them about good oral hygiene and diet practices. 

Alexis is a Peer Assisted Study Sessions Leader which involves running academic and pastoral sessions for her peers at the University of Leeds. The approachability and care this entails translates into the way she cares for her patients.

Despite all this, Alexis leads a busy life outside of work, she has studied ballet, tap and modern to a very advanced level. Being assessed in this way has allowed her to develop a keen eye for detail and understand the importance of self-reflection. She is passionate about using her interests and skills positively which lead to her organising a theatre production to raise awareness of mental health issues and raise money for the charity Time to Change and also putting on dance shows to raise money for the Royal Air Force Charity Trust.
