Following the Government announcement last night we have received confirmation that dental practices are advised to remain open, providing their usual services.
This course of action is a recognition of both the importance of maintaining oral health and the fact that dental teams are experienced and highly competent at cross infection control.
Poor oral health is associated with an increased risk of many diseases including heart disease and diabetes which will, in turn, increase the risk of a poor outcome from Covid. This lockdown is absolutely necessary to reduce deaths but it is also important that we minimise the damaging effects that lockdown can have on us all by looking after ourselves and each other.
I would like to reassure you that our practice is a safe environment for you to receive care. We are, as always, putting your health and safely at the forefront of the planning and delivery of the care we give.
Like all of you, we have a responsibility to self isolate if we develop symptoms of Covid or are a ‘contact’ This has already impacted on our team and I envisage it will continue to. If we do need to rearrange your appointment, or you do, please be assured we have made sure that we have good availability to reschedule promptly and minimise any delays to your care.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, we are here for you.
